Dillon Hill is where design meets business.
Yacht US approached us about starting up an e-commerce business, starting from scratch they needed a brand identity and website to sell on.
To kick off the project, we conducted user research to understand the needs and behaviors of customers who purchase marine produtcs online. Based on this research, we created personas and user journeys to inform the design process.
Next, the team at Dillon Hill Studio worked on developing a moodboard for the brand. Using American colors and the concept of sailing as our main drive.
Our brand and visual designers did what they do best and kept iterating on designs until we had 4 options to choose from. Based on Yacht US's feedback as a guide, we finalized their logo and type into a beautiful blue white and red sail that could be used across print and web. The team simultaneously designed wireframes and mid-fidelity mockups for the website's user interface (UI).
Once the low-fidelity design was finalized in Shopify, our team found a simliar Shopift template to bring the design to life. We chose a pre-built template to optimize on speed and could then enhance the design and user experience (UX) as we continued our designs.
Throughout the project, the team at Dillon Hill Studio worked closely with the team at YachtUS to ensure that the end result met their needs and expectations. The final product was a beautifully designed website that accurately represented YachtUS's brand and effectively met the needs of their target audience.
Based on the research, we created branding and a new Shopify website's layout and navigation. The branding and site were then reviewed and refined with the company's stakeholders to ensure they aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
With the design complete, we filled in content for the website bringing in images, collections, blogs, and product pages. This allowed us to create a filled-in website that looks and functions great on all devices. We also recommended various features such as banners, analytics, live chat, and email marketing for our client for their digital strategy.
The end result was a website that was a modern and sleek e-commerce website with a great user experience. The website received positive feedback from users and the company saw solid user engagement and conversions.
In conclusion, with a little bit of research, branding, design, and Shopify magic we were able to put yacthus.co on the market and compete with the big fish.
